What Cargo Carriers Gave 67 Minutes to on Mandela Day 2017 July 18, 2017 |

Like many South African businesses who take community involvement as seriously as they do the bottom line, Cargo Carriers personnel did their bit for those in need on 18 July. The late president’s birthday is now recognised as International Nelson Mandela Day, and staff at the Vanderbijlpark and Sasolburg branches of Cargo Carriers joined forces to spend their 67 minutes delivering more than good cheer at the community clinic in Zamdela, Sasolburg.

Residents in the community were treated to scarves donated by Cargo Carriers staff, as well as a snack pack. But the real challenge, says Cargo Carriers Business Development and Communications Manager Elmarie Ollewagen, is to take action, inspire change, and make every day Mandela Day. “It was bitterly cold in Sasolburg on the day,” she said, “but our donation was made with loving hearts, and it feels like we received more than we gave.”
