Safety, Health, Environment & Quality
Responsible care is fundamental at Cargo
Carriers and we have built a solid foundation for safety,
health, environmental and quality activities, and strive for
continuous improvement in all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment
and Quality (SHEQ) performance.
The Sasolburg and Durban branches have been rated as a 'preferred haulier' in terms of the Chemical and Allied Industries Association (CAIA) criteria. All branches attained over 90% in the internationally approved Safety and Quality Assessment System audit (SQAS).
The whole company consistently undergoes extensive audits by the local and German based DEKRA-ITS certification services, and has received both ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 accreditation across all branches. All new contracts / branches are also typically prepared for accreditation within the first year of operation.
We are represented on the all-embracing environmental forum, the Responsible Care Steering Committee of the Chemical and Allied Industries Association (CAIA), as well as their Chemical Handling Environmental Forum.
Cargo Carriers commit to adhere to all statutory and specific SHEQ principles specified. Any further information relating to the SHEQ principles, audits and accreditations is available on request.
