A substantial commitment to skills and IT investment and development over the past number of years have ensured that CargoSolutions can now rightfully claim a place as one of the leading supply chain and logistics service providers in Southern Africa. Testament to this is the increasing number of large supply chain projects that we are commissioned for, as well as industry recognition.

Whereas our involvement has previously being restricted to certain industry verticals, we are now involved in projects across various industry supply chains, including steel, sugar, FMCG, pharmaceutical, plastic extrusion, footwear, etc. Our roots are still firmly entrenched in the transportation functions of the supply chain, but this is stretching further than just the road transport mode, incorporating rail and ocean shipping through exposure on large steel supply chain projects.

Cargo Carriers Solutions Division has adopted the TOC (Theory of Constraints) Methodology as its preferred process for reforming supply chains, because of its superior track record of delivering a significant and measurable competitive advantage. The key tenet of Theory of Constraints is to increase throughput much faster than operating expenses. Evidence affirms that the TOC approach delivers the highest levels of supply chain reform benefits to clients, at lower risk levels and in shorter time frames than any other method.

Our progress in this regard has two important components: Firstly, we have expanded our consulting capacity extensively, and secondly, we have secured the South African rights to Symphony, the software that underpins TOC projects in practice. Thus on all significant TOC implementations, whether implemented by our team or not, we are involved in the software implementation.

The TOC methodology has enabled us to assist customers with solutions across the entire supply chain, and our scope of services are now covering all major functions including raw material management, production, distribution, and marketing and sales.
